Is a list of camcorder necessary given that there already is a List of Canon products?

Also, shouldn't Canon's non-video cameras be merged into a list as well? Shawnc (talk) 06:26, 25 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

GL2 is missing from the list guys :-) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.183.100.3 (talk) 04:23, 31 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Don't be scared, add it! 203.45.39.201 (talk) 03:56, 5 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Needs heavy re-organization

[edit]

This list needs to be organized in categories (film, professional cinematography, prosumer, consumer) and more details need to be given about each camcorder and the differences between them, preferably in comparison tables and with references. If no one else is going to do any of it, I'd be happy to...but it's a big task and any help will be greatly appreciated. This list could be a wonderful resource for people who are looking for information about Canon's camcorders. Such information is not always easy to find outside of old reviews and Canon support articles. Daivox (talk) 23:11, 25 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I've re-organized this list and cleaned up a few things. A lot of models are missing and we need some citations. Cameras for which there was detailed information were removed from bulleted lists. Any camera that is still in such a list needs to be fleshed out with detailed information. Daivox (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 13:22, 26 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

The list of Canon products entry for camcorders is just a link to this page. It is really obsolete. The Vixia product line has had a fairly consistent numbering system since the HF100 introduction. All models beginning with the same common number are the same generation (HF-R300, HF-M300, HF-M31, HF-S300, etc all came out in 2010/2011). Variations in features and cost are usually: R = low end, M = mid range, S = prosumer, G = pro/industrial. The second and third digits indicate options - whether the camera has an internal memory, different color, or dual memory card slots. All this info is available on Canon sales/marketing sheets and in catalogs. Mccainre (talk) 05:51, 4 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
